Kolkata: A man was killed in a reckless car crash in Kasba . Four people, including a police constable, were injured. Several people, including the driver, were detained by the police. The incident took place in Kasba around 5 am today.
According to police sources, a few drunken youths were standing in the street and rioting. When the police went there at that time, some youths fled in a car.
At that moment, the car hit Constable Uday Biswas. The car then hit a pedestrian. The pedestrian died.
The killer then hit several vehicles while fleeing. Police have arrested Rajdeep and several of his accomplices.
Allegedly, the youths were in a hookah bar in Kasba till night. Despite government orders to close hotels and restaurants, questions have been raised as to why the hookah bar was open until late that night.
