A statement from the Kerala government said 19 samples were sent to the National Institute of Virology in Pune after the Zika virus was found in the body of a 24-year-old girl. There, 13 out of 19 people reported positive. State Health Minister Veena George said plans were being made to stop the spread of the Zika virus. A 6-member team from the center also went to Kerala.
Zika virus is a mosquito-borne disease. The virus enters the human body through mosquitoes. When infected with this disease, the symptoms are similar to dengue. In addition to high fever and joint pain, rash is seen on the body. Zika can even become fatal by increasing the complexity of the body.
