Belgachhia News : Allegations of firing in populated areas of the city surfaced against the central forces. The incident took place on Friday evening following a clash between two political parties at the Belgachhia tram depot. The commission has called for a report on the matter at night to find out who fired the shots.
BJP leader Arjun Singh came to Belgachia on Friday for a meeting. He came to the meeting on behalf of BJP candidate Shivaji Singh Roy of Kashipur-Belgachhia assembly constituency. The meeting was held on a stage next to a guest house called Blue View. It is alleged that the locals attacked the meeting. They started throwing bricks and stones at the stage accusing the meeting of being held without any permission. The BJP has alleged that they attacked Arjun Singh on the stage. While there was a heated argument between the two groups, the Central Army personnel in charge of Arjun Singh’s security fired four to five rounds into the air. However, they are found on the walls of the guest house. No one was injured. However, the BJP alleges that the attack was carried out by Trinamool supporters. BJP candidate Shivaji Singh Roy was injured in the attack.
The Election Commission has called for a report on the incident on Friday. Police, however, said that the central forces fired. Arjun later said that his security guards fired to save him.
The whole area took the look of a battlefield centering on the incident. Spreads intense tension. Traffic in the area was closed for a long time. Later the police brought the situation under control. Police also have to charge batons to control tensions. When asked about this, Arjun said, “Trinamool activists started throwing bricks and stones. The police stood. They did not interrupt.
