The Central Govt has issued guidelines for the treatment of children infected with covid. The guideline does not recommend the application of remediation. The use of HRCT imaging has been suggested. According to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health, steroids are harmful for children with ascites and mild symptoms.
However, under strict supervision, steroids can be given only in serious and very serious patients in the hospital. Steroids should be used at the right time, at the right dose and for the right duration. Taking steroids outside the hospital must be avoided.
The Central Govt guidelines state that emergency-use drugs are not recommended for children with remedial treatment. There is a lack of information about its effectiveness in those under 18 years of age. The guideline recommends HVCT scans in Covid patients to see the extent and nature of the lung infection. At the same time, however, it has been warned that any additional information obtained from HRCT scans of the chest has little effect on treatment. So doctors have to think about this and make a decision. That being said, covid is a viral infection. Antimicrobials have no role in the treatment of this patient. Antimicrobial therapy or prophylaxis is not recommended for patients with asymptomatic and mild symptoms. However, in severe cases, antimicrobials should not be given unless there is a suspicion.
The Central Govt guidelines also do not recommend the use of any specific medication for children with asymptomatic covid. However, wearing a mask, physical distance has been asked to follow the general rules. It has also been suggested that children be given nutritious food. The guidelines state that patients with mild symptoms may be given paracetamol every 4-6 hours for fever and sore throat. If you are a little older and have a cough, it is recommended to gargle in warm salt water.
The guidelines state that in case of severe infections, the patient should start oxygen therapy immediately. Severe patients with severe shortness of breath need to take immediate action. The guideline also recommends a 6-minute walk for people over the age of 12. That being said, this is a simple clinical trial. Put an oximeter on the child’s finger and walk for 6 minutes. Oxygen levels should be checked after 6 minutes of walking.
