Buddhadeb Dasgupta has laft us with dedicated movie as a gift . He died at his residence in South Kolkata on Thursday morning. He died in his sleep at 6 in the morning. He had been suffering from kidney disease for a long time.
Dialysis was going on. Kidney problems were associated with aging problems. He was 77 years old at the time of his death.
Buddhadeb Dasgupta was a prominent name both in the world of filmmaking and literature. Some of his famous films include Bagh Bahadur, Tahader Katha, Charachar and Uttara. Five of his films have bagged the National Film Award for Best Feature Film. Even as a director, he bagged two National Film Awards for his films Uttara and Swapner Din.
Buddhadeb Dasgupta spent his childhood in Anarat, South Purulia. Studied economics at the Scottish Church College. The Calcutta Film Society has played a major role in becoming a director from the world of education and literature. It was there that he met Charlie Chaplin, Ingmar Bergman, and Akira Kurosawa.
He was not a believer in retirement. Even in March, he was writing a new screenplay. Buddhadeb Dasgupta was weaving the thread of a female detective story.

He breathed his last in Calcutta today. He was 77 years old. Notable films directed by him are Tahadera Kotha, Bagh Bahadur, Uttara, Charachar, Upakhyan of the Evil Girl, Kalpurush etc. His death caused irreparable damage to the film world.
